Opportunity

Wally's Wine, a well-established player in the industry for over 50 years, recently opened a new store in Las Vegas. In order to give their website a more luxurious appearance and enhance the online shopping experience, they decided to redesign a majority of their site’s pages. It's important to note that their Vegas location now offers a "Buy Online, Pick up Only" service, and they wanted to find an effortless way to convey this message to their customers.

Solution

The challenge during the design phase was to create an immersive, luxury experience that was still easy to use and solved pain points discovered through research. This consisted of a rework of the current brand guidelines, restaurant page, and mega menu. new iconography, and color styles.

In addition to the 18 fully re-designed pages, this site build included a theme duplication for its Las Vegas store for products that are bought online, and pick up in-store only. The restaurants’ page was enhanced to a single page, accordion feature for easier access to each restaurant’s unique offerings and menus.

Wireframes

Supported UX designer in creating Hi-Fidelity wireframes for all 18 pages, ensuring comprehensive information and best UX practices.

Iconography

The client requested a more personal and creative touch on their redesigned website similar to their competitor's site. Custom icons were created which included filter options, food pairings, a shopping cart, and an account icon.

Call to Action

Wally's Wine had an existing brand guide that used only shades of green. Changes were made to improve the readability of the text layout and a new ‘grape' color was added to make the add-to-cart buttons more noticeable and help contrast the green.

A condensed page with accordion functionality was created to reduce clicks and simplify the user experience.

Las Vegas

After the first website was launched in October 2021, the new theme was duplicated for their new store in Las Vegas. These items can only be purchased online and picked up in-store. Adjustments were made to make this clear and provide customers with the choice to go back to the original site.
